While I’m someone who has always had a knack for DIY projects, I realize that not everyone has the confidence to pick up a power tool and tackle a project. The Home Depot asked a group of bloggers to build the project with our own unique spin on it and showcase it in our homes to inspire you to attend the workshop and build one for yourself.
I knew I wanted mine to serve as a silverware holder in our dining room, so I kept it light and neutral to fit in with the rest of the decor in there. 
For the stem, I used a stick I found in our backyard, cut the end off and nailed it to the back of the pumpkin. I also added leaves I cut out of burlap, attached to jute twine.
I wanted my pumpkin stand to be versatile, so I nailed a piece of wood painted with chalkboard paint to the front so that I can change what is written on it from time to time. I’m thinking I might also use it to hold candy on the front porch on Halloween and write “please take one.”
