Lately – Summer 2015 Edition

I’ve been finding it really hard to post regularly the last month or so. The weather has been absolutely amazing here in the Pacific Northwest this summer and I’ve wanted to spend every minute outside soaking up the warm sunshine. Also, with my three kiddos home with me, I find that I’m quite distracted with keeping them busy. I love having them home, but man alive, I forgot how noisy and busy they are ALL. DAY. LONG.

Anyways, that’s why I’ve been MIA around the blog this summer. So I thought it would be fun to catch you up on what we’ve been up to lately.

We spent a week in Sunriver, Oregon with my sister & her family and my dad & step-mom.family pic(left to right: my husband, me, our three kids, my sister, her husband and their baby girl)

On one of the last days of our stay, however, one of my boys crashed his bike and ended up having to get stitches in his chin. reece stitchesHe was a real trooper about it though!IMG_0010

We added two new members to the family, Ruby and Tulip. So now our family consists of 5 people, 2 beagles, and 2 rabbits.bunniesWe are quite smitten with them, but I now think I must have been temporarily insane when we decided to bring them home. We have them in a large cage in the house and it’s a lot of work to keep the cage clean. I’m totally paranoid about it smelling up our house!

I ordered plantation shutters for our home office, but the frames were badly damaged in shipping, so I’m waiting for replacements before I get to hang these beauties.shutters

The lockers I bought at the Farm Chicks show back in June got a new paint job and I ordered new locker number tags to put on the doors. I’m also working on a wood top for it because it has a few jagged holes and I don’t want the kids to cut themselves on it.lockers

I’m also working on giving this wood toy box a makeover. toy box beforeI found it at Goodwill for $8 and I knew it had great potential. I can’t wait to show it to you when it’s finished!

We bought a “second home,” which is what our insurance company calls it because it has a toilet. Technically, it just a pop-up camping trailer though. camping trailerWe have been searching for the right one for years and found this beauty while we were down in Oregon. We’re looking forward to lots of family camping adventures!

And last, but not least, Jacob and I celebrated our 12th wedding anniversary.anniversary lunch His parents graciously watched our kids for a weekend and we were able to have lunch on the Kirkland waterfront, go paddle boarding on Lake Washington, and see a movie in the theater! It was heavenly :)

Now I’m off to pack up the camping supplies for our maiden camping trip!

Hope you are having a fabulous summer!
